Migration Agents and Translator play a big role for those entering Australia, the Migration Agents offer advice to immigrants and Translators helping those with non english speaking back grounds to communicate with others in their new found communities.
As these roles are both so important there are strict rules implace to ensure they are doing their jobs in the best possible way.
All Migration Agents must be registered with the MARA ( Migration Agents Registration Authority ). This provides assurance to customers that the Migration Agents are fit to give advice.
In order to register as a RMA (Registered Migration Agent) you must be an Australian Citizen or hold Australian permanent residency.
Registering with the MARA will require a fee to be paid. Once registration is complete you will be provided with documentation advising that you are a RMA aswell as being given a Registration ID card. You must obide by the RMA code of conduct.
To work as a translator you can either be qualified or un-qualified but you must obide by the code of ethics.
